CRATE AND BARREL/CB2

full-time senior designer on the
Crate and Barrel/CB2 in-house creative team

2006-2013

Crate and Barrel is a lifestyle brand that offers contemporary and modern furniture, housewares, and home decor. The first store was opened in Chicago, Illinois by Gordon and Carole Segal in 1962. I had the pleasure of working at the corporate office while Gordon Segal was still the CEO before retiring in 2008. I also had the opportunity to work on design projects for the spin-off brand, CB2, that was established in 2000.

During my time on the in-house Private Label Packaging team, some significant projects included: designing packaging solutions for the bakeware upright, seasonal collections, holiday food collections, and core product packaging. I also had the opportunity to create several surface pattern designs for Crate and Barrel/CB2 on juice glasses, lemonade glasses, dinner plate and bowl collections, and soap/lotion sets.

My main responsibilities included: developing creative packaging solutions using minimal and recycled packaging materials, managing large scale projects from concept through production, working with printers and suppliers in the U.S. and around the world. While on the team, I also provided art direction for food photography that would appear on Crate and Barrel private label packaging in retail stores.
